이번 시간에는 일상생활이나 미드에서 자주 쓰이는 세 가지 표현 "hit the spot, take a whack at, call in"을 알아보겠습니다. 바로 시작해볼까요?
1. hit the spot : 바로 이거지! 이제 살 것 같다, 속이 시원하네.
Longman : to have exactly the good effect that you wanted, especially when you are hungry or thirsty
보통 배고프고 목마른데 딱 원하는 만족감을 느꼈을 때 배를 탕탕 두드리면서 하는 말입니다.

아 이거지
▷ That hit the spot
이제 살 것 같다
2. take a whack at : 시도하다
Cambridge : try to do something
"take a whack at"은 give something a try와 같은 의미로 쓰입니다.
▷ Got it. Let me take a whack at this.

3. call in
1) ~을 부르다
Collins : If you call someone in, you ask them to come and help you or do something for you.
도움을 요청하기 위해 의사, 경찰, 전문가 등을 부를 때 사용합니다.
▷ Call in the paramedics
긴급 의료원들 불러
2) (전화로) 부탁하다
Longman : to telephone somewhere, especially the place where you work, to tell them where you are, what you are doing etc
보통 회사에 아프다고 전화할 때 사용합니다.
▷ I'll call in sick
