이번 시간에는 미드나 테드, 일상생활에서 자주 접하는 표현 세 가지 'so much so that, the upper hand, stay tuned'을 알아보겠습니다. 그럼 바로 시작해볼까요?
1. So much so (that) : 매우 [너무] 그러하므로 ~하다 [할 정도이다]
Collins : You use so much so to indicate that your previous statement is true to a very great extent, and therefore it has the result mentioned
'so much so'는 이전에 언급한 내용이 어느 정도까지 사실인지를 확대하여 표현할 때 사용합니다. 예문들과 함께 친해져 볼까요?
▷ We all tell ourselves all sorts of things to make sense of the past. So much so that our fabrications, if we tell them to ourselves often enough, become the truth.

2. (gain / get / have) the upper hand : 우세, 우위, 주도권
Longman : To have more power than someone else, so that you are able to control a situation.
'the upper hand'는 어떤 상황에 관련된 대상보다 더 많은 힘을 가져 해당 상황에 대한 통제권을 가지는 것을 의미합니다. 예문과 함께 친해져 볼까요?
▷ Why should she have the upper hand?
왜 그녀가 주도권을 가지고 있는 건데?
▷ But the car seems to have the upper hand
차가 우세한 것처럼 보입니다.
▷ But it looks like I have the upper hand now.
보아하니 주도권은 이제 저한테 있는 것 같네요.

Longman : used to say that you should look or listen for more information about a particular subject at a later time
'stay tuned'은 어떤 내용에 대한 추가 정보를 계속해서 주시하고 주목하라는 의미로 쓰입니다.
