이번 시간에는 pull, draw, drag, haul, tug의 차이점을 간단히 알아보겠습니다.
□ 차이점
1. pull
Collins:When you pull something, you hold it firmly and use force in order to move it towards you or away from its previous position
pull은 힘을 주어 자신이나 손이 움직이는 방향으로 잡아당긴다는 의미입니다. push는 반대로 힘을 주어 반대 방향으로 민다는 의미입니다.
▷ Hey! He's pulling hair, he's pulling hair
이봐, 이 녀석이 머리 잡아당기고 있어, 머리 잡아당기고 있어
▷ Push it! Push it! Push it!
밀어! 밀어! 밀어!
2. draw
Longman:to move someone or something in a particular direction by pulling them gently
draw는 고른 힘으로 부드럽게 끌어당깁니다.
▷ Draw the curtain, please!
커튼을 쳐주세요!
3. drag
Longman:to pull something along the ground, often because it is too heavy to carry
drag는 보통 무거운 물체를 바닥에 질질 끌며 끌어당깁니다.
▷ Fine, I'll drag you inside
좋아, 안으로 끌고 들어갈게
4. haul
Cambridge:to pull something heavy slowly and with difficulty
haul은 무거운 물체를 천천히 일정한 속도로 많은 힘을 들여 끌어당깁니다.
▷ Haul him aboard
그를 배 안으로 끌어올려
5. tug
Cambridge:to pull something quickly and usually with a lot of force
tug는 힘을 들여 물건을 홱 잡아당깁니다.
▷ Set, tug!
